How Fagali’I Airport Is Your Ticket To A Tropical Paradise

The Fagali’I Airport is a gateway to a tropical paradise. It is located just outside of Apia’s city limits on the island of Upolu. Most people arrive here for tourism although since Apia is the biggest city in Samoa, as well as the capital, business people and those working with the government also go through this airport.

Polynesian Airline of Samoa is the sole airplane company that has flights going in and out of Fagali’I Airport. As this is a small airport with a single airstrip and Polynesian uses three small airplanes which all fly back and forth to the nearby Pago Pago, American Samoa. There are several flights each day.

Once you’ve landed at the Fagali’I Airport it’s pretty quick and easy to get any baggage you had sent along with you. You can also exchange your money for Somoan currency while at the airport and there are ATM’s all over Apia where you can do the same. You can get to your hotel by either taking your hotel’s shuttle bus, if they offer one, or take one of the many cabs waiting outside the concourse. Converting the Samoan Tala to US Dollars, a cab ride to a hotel costs around $12 to $20.

Most of the hotels on Upolu are within a few miles of the Fagaliā€™I Airport according to The per night costs of a hotel room ranges from around $25 a night to $220 depending, of course, on how nice of a hotel it is you want to stay at and can afford. When you leave your hotel there are many things to do on Opolu. This can include surfing, diving, cuisine, and arts & culture.

Upolu is a tropical island so it has nice weather all year long. The temperature is measured at Fagali’I Airport and it’s around 24 to 30 degrees Celsius throughout the year, or 75 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit. This is great for golfing of which there are two courses on this island.
